Since its foundation in 2008, the São Paulo Companhia de Dança has grown rapidly into an internationally esteemed company. At a time when Dutch art and culture are facing immense challenges, it is amazing to see how, on the other side of the world, new initiatives are constantly being developed and companies are springing up in next to no time.

The São Paulo Companhia de Dança will be making its debut in the Netherlands at the Holland Dance Festival. The company’s varied style ties in perfectly with the festival theme 'Source of Inspiration’. The charismatic dancers reveal their stunning mastery of diverse techniques in three creations: a new work by Nacho Duato that is new to the Netherlands and two new contemporary pieces by Henrique Rodovalho and Mauricio de Oliveira, who is a familiar name in the Netherlands.
